- Serum Sickness
- SYMPTOMS. Serum sickness can cause fever, swelling of the lymph node, pains
- in the joints, hives or other skin rash.
- CAUSES. The allergic reaction is usually caused by penicillin or other drugs
- to which a person is unusually sensitive. There is usually a delay of a
- week to 12 days before the reaction appears.
- TREATMENT. The sickness will limit the person's activity.
